More episodes coming - I promise!

Wow. I mean, I had no idea. Today I logged into my Libsyn account after a long, long time, and to my great astonishment, over 9,000 people have downloaded the few episodes of the podcasts I did two years ago. I was just floored.

Therefore, to keep The Music Professor Podcast going, I've decided to make shorter episodes and post them more frequently. I very much enjoy Grammar Girl's idea of having brief, but frequent, episodes on topics of a narrow focus. I believe this format will work well for me.

So, if you've been patiently waiting for more episodes (and thank you to those who have written to me about the few episodes that I did post), new episodes are coming. I will do them in conjunction with a course I am teaching this fall at Temple University entitled, "The Art of Listening".

Episode 01: The Music Professor Podcast

This is the initial episode of The Music Professor Podcast. In the episode, I discuss what I hope this podcast will become and for whom the podcasts are intended. This is a brief episode, as I wanted to be sure that I knew what I was doing and that I could successfully launch a podcast on the Internet before proceeding further. However, whether you are a music professional, a music student, or a music lover, I hope that future episodes of this podcast will interest you through lively discussions about music and composers, analyses of podsafe music listening examples, as well as other topics related to music, music history and appreciation, music technology, and teaching.
